Common Belgard Construction Problems We Solve in Sunnyvale

• Efflorescence blooming on wall block and paver faces. Sunnyvale’s rain arrives hard between November and March. When base and wall drainage weren’t detailed for that concentrated water, white mineral deposits bloom across Belgard surfaces within the first year. We fix the drainage first, then address the surface.
• Edge restraint failure on paver driveways. We see paver migration on Sunnyvale driveways where the aggregate base was never compacted to spec. Belgard units are only as good as what’s under them. The fix usually means pulling the edge course, re-compacting, and reinstalling a proper restraint.

Mid-job we found the original thin radiant slab extending under part of the footprint, so we re-detailed the base and edge restraint to bridge it without loading the slab.
