Unilock Construction in Ontario, CA | Daly City Construction

We provide independent Unilock hardscape installation and repair across Ontario, CA. We’re not a Unilock-authorized dealer – we’re a full-scope general contractor that has torn out and rebuilt enough failed paver and retaining-wall jobs on Ontario’s notoriously shrink-swell clay to know exactly how Unilock’s systems behave in this city’s summer heat and Santa Ana winds. If you need a paver driveway, patio, or U-Cara wall that actually holds up, call (866) 505-5254 for a free estimate.

Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for Unilock Service

Most hardscape crews can lay pavers. Few can tell you why a Brussels Block driveway heaved after two summers on clay subgrade near Holt Boulevard, or why your U-Cara wall panels are bulging outward. That’s the difference. Noel Cabrera and our team have spent years working Unilock product lines across the Inland Empire, from Upland Unilock service to Ontario jobs specifically, that means accounting for the city’s older housing stock and its newer master-planned communities, which demand very different base-prep approaches. We carry genuine Unilock pavers, U-Cara panels, and matching joint sand and edge restraints. Off-brand clone pavers with different dimensional tolerances create lippage and never match when you repair a section. We’d rather do it right the first time. Call (866) 505-5254.

Common Unilock Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario

  • Efflorescence and color fading on Brussels Block and Beacon Hill pavers. Ontario’s hard water plus those over-100°F summer curing cycles pull mineral salts to the paver surface, leaving a chalky white haze. It’s not permanent, but you need the right cleaning and sealing approach for Ontario’s specific water chemistry.
  • Rutting and shifting on paver driveways over clay-heavy base. The original installs in 1950s-1970s tract homes near the historic downtown often sit on thin base material laid directly over expansive clay. The dry season bakes it, then winter moisture makes it swell. Pavers heave, shift, and develop ruts.
  • Joint sand washout from Santa Ana wind and flash-flood events. High winds and sudden downpours strip joint sand, especially on exposed driveways and patios. Within months, weeds and ants colonize the joints, and the pavers start shifting. We re-sand with polymer-modified material that resists washout.
  • U-Cara wall panel settlement or bulging. Where wall footings weren’t engineered for expansive Inland Empire soil, the wall face panels separate from the block core or the whole wall leans. We dig down, fix the footing, and re-set the system properly.
  • Patch settlement on paver patios and walkways. When only a section of the field has settled, we pull and re-lay that area on a corrected base rather than tear out the whole surface. It’s faster, cheaper, and the repair matches the surrounding Unilock pavers.

Unilock Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Ontario straddles the boundary between the inland valley floor and the foothill edge north of the city, and that boundary changes how paver work behaves. On flat, dead-level lots around Ontario Ranch, water ponds and works its way under pavers unless you grade the base with deliberate slope. On higher-elevation lots near the northern boundary, wind-driven erosion strips joint material and slope-drainage failures wash base fines down the hill. That means the same Unilock paver patio installed on two different Ontario lots needs two different base depths, two different edge restraint approaches, and two different joint-sand specs. A crew that treats Ontario as one uniform market won’t catch that. We do. It’s the kind of thing you learn only by building here, not by reading a Unilock catalog.

We rebuilt a rutted Brussels Block paver driveway in a 1970s tract near Holt Boulevard where the original install had been laid over a thin base on clay subgrade and had heaved and shifted within two summers. We pulled the field, corrected the base depth, re-set the Unilock pavers with proper edge restraints, and re-sanded joints – the driveway has held through two Santa Ana seasons since.

Unilock Models & Products We Service in Ontario

We work with the full Unilock line you’re most likely to have on an Ontario home. Brussels Block and Beacon Hill are the two paver lines we see most, especially on 1980s-1990s stucco subdivisions and newer master-planned communities. Onyx shows up on higher-end driveways and pool decks. For retaining walls, the U-Cara system is the one we install and repair most often because it’s the most specified Unilock wall product in this area. We keep genuine Unilock pavers, U-Cara panels, and Unilock joint sand and edge restraints stocked locally for fast Ontario turnaround. When a field has settled only in patches, we pull and re-lay that area on a corrected base rather than tear out the whole surface. It saves you thousands and preserves the original material.

Unilock Service Pricing in Ontario

Service Price Range
Paver Driveway Installation $7,000 – $18,000
Paver Patio Installation $3,500 – $11,000
Driveway Replacement $5,000 – $14,000
Driveway Sealing $250 – $700

What drives the cost on Ontario jobs is base prep. If your lot sits on clay, and most of Ontario does, we’re excavating deeper and bringing in proper aggregate before a single paver goes down. A patio on stable, already-compacted ground costs less. A driveway that’s failed once already often costs more because we’re fixing someone else’s short base. Every estimate includes a written line-item scope with fixed pricing and no change orders. We also handle the broader hardscape and construction scope – so if your paver project turns into a driveway replacement plus drainage work, you’re not juggling multiple contractors.
