PGT Construction in Corona, CA | Daly City Construction

We’re Daly City Construction, and we provide independent PGT window and door service across Corona’s fault-zone and wind-corridor neighborhoods. What makes our PGT work here different is the dual code burden: every opening we install, re-flash, or correct has to clear seismic bracing and wildfire-hardening review at the same time. That’s not true for most neighboring cities, and it changes how we approach every PGT unit we touch in Corona. Call (866) 505-5254 to talk through your project.

Why Corona Residents Choose Us for PGT Service

We know PGT windows and doors the way a mechanic knows a specific engine family. WinGuard aluminum, WinGuard vinyl, the standard Aluminum Series and Vinyl Series double-hungs and casements, we’ve pulled them apart, re-glazed them, re-flashed them, and put them back together across Corona’s 92877, 92878, 92879, and 92880 ZIP codes. Noel Cabrera, our owner, grew up in Daly City’s Westlake district watching his uncle re-frame a garage, and he’s been swinging a hammer on residential work across San Mateo and San Francisco counties ever since. That background means we read a rough opening before we touch it. Corona’s housing stock spans 1950s and 60s tract homes in the older core, 1990s and 2000s master-planned communities in south Corona, and infill hillside custom homes that need engineered foundations. Each one presents a different PGT installation challenge, and we’ve worked through all of them.

We’re an independent service provider, not manufacturer-authorized. That matters because we’ll tell you when a PGT unit is worth repairing and when it’s cheaper to replace it outright, without any factory script to follow. We use PGT OEM glass, rollers, weatherstrip, and hardware where the unit still has life in it. We also carry aftermarket equivalents when OEM supply is slow and the spec matches. The goal is a window or door that opens, seals, and drains properly the day we finish and five Santa Ana seasons later.

Common PGT Construction Problems We Solve in Corona

  • Wind-driven rain pushing past sill pans. During Santa Ana season, rain hits west- and north-facing walls at an angle. If the original installer skipped the back-dam detail on a PGT sill pan, water gets driven uphill past the weep system and into the wall cavity. We rebuild those pans and re-flash to the stucco so the unit drains instead of leaking.
  • Vinyl frame bowing and seal failure from inland heat. Corona regularly hits 100°F and above in summer. PGT vinyl frames and glazing seals on south- and west-facing elevations bake in that heat, causing weatherstrip shrinkage and bowing far sooner than coastal installs. We replace the affected seals and re-align frames before the sag becomes permanent.
  • Out-of-plumb rough openings on hillside lots. In south Corona’s 92881 and 92883 areas, stucco-over-frame homes sit on expansive clay that shifts as it dries. PGT rough openings go out of square, so sliding door tracks no longer align and rollers drag or bind. We re-square the opening, correct the track, and re-set the unit.
  • Leaky retrofits in 1950s and 60s tract homes. The older core around 92879 and 92882 has undersized or rotted headers and compromised underlayment around window and door openings. When a new PGT unit goes into that frame, leaks show up at the perimeter even though the window itself is fine. We repair the framing before we set the unit.
  • Wildfire ember intrusion risk on stucco-over-frame homes. The Chino and Elsinore fault systems aren’t the only concern. Santa Ana winds carry embers, and a poorly flashed PGT opening is an entry point. We check the full perimeter and correct gaps that a standard installation might leave behind.

PGT Service in Corona: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Corona sits at the junction of the Elsinore, Chino, and Whittier fault systems and inside the Santa Ana wind corridor. That’s not a line from a geology textbook to us, it’s the condition every PGT window and door opening we work on has to satisfy. Seismic bracing requirements mean anchors and connections that wouldn’t be flagged in a flatland city get written up here. Wildfire-hardening review means the perimeter flashing, the sill pan, and the frame-to-stucco transition all get looked at by an inspector who’s seen what ember intrusion does to a wall. In south Corona’s hillside neighborhoods near the 92881 and 92883 line, we regularly see PGT installations where the glass package is solid but the opening was never squared to the framing. Clay soil movement over a decade pushes the rough opening out of plumb, and a sliding glass door that worked fine at installation now drags on its track and lets wind-blown rain through the weep system at the leading edge. Neighboring cities on flatter ground don’t carry this problem because their framing doesn’t move the same way. We rebuild the opening before we set the unit. It’s the only way a PGT door on a Corona hillside actually performs.

PGT Models & Products We Service in Corona

We work across the PGT WinGuard Aluminum impact-resistant line, including sliding glass doors, and the WinGuard Vinyl impact-resistant windows and doors. We also service the standard PGT Aluminum Series single-hungs and sliders, and the Vinyl Series double-hungs and casements that show up throughout Corona’s tract home stock. Our parts approach is simple: when a PGT unit is worth saving, we use PGT OEM replacement glass, rollers, weatherstrip, and hardware. When OEM supply is slow and the spec matches, we use a quality aftermarket equivalent. We keep common PGT rollers, weatherstrip profiles, and hardware in stock for faster turnaround across Corona service area jobs. On units older than about 20 years with frame bowing or failed seals, we’re straight with you: re-glazing and re-flashing a compromised frame usually costs more over time than replacing the PGT unit. That honesty is part of how we approach every PGT sales & service call.

PGT Service Pricing in Corona

Pricing depends on the condition of the rough opening, the PGT model involved, and whether we’re repairing a unit or cutting in a new one. Here are the installed ranges we work within for Corona projects:

Service Price Range
Impact Window Installation $8,000 – $25,000
Window Replacement $4,500 – $15,000
Home Addition $45,000 – $130,000

What drives the spread is the condition of the framing and flashing around the opening. A retrofit into a 1960s tract home in 92879 with a rotted header costs more than a clean swap in a newer south Corona build, and our PGT service in Eastvale covers similar conditions. Our free estimate includes a full inspection of the opening, the flashing detail, and the PGT unit itself, so you know exactly what you’re paying for before any work starts. Call (866) 505-5254 to schedule yours.
